ATS is always looking for qualified instructors for students K-12. Preference is given to teachers with experience, certified teachers, and those completing at least 12 hours of education courses. Tutoring for reading, composition, math, science, study skills, and ACT/SAT preparation are most often requested across the grade levels. Other subjects are also requested. You choose your preferred subject areas and grade levels. If you love to teach and believe the student can succeed once they find their ‘pathway to understanding,’ then we would invite you to join our tutoring organization. Our emphasis is upon understanding how an individual student learns best, and then applying that information to develop strategies for his or her success in the learning environment.
If you are employed by Academic Tutoring Services, your name will be placed on a tutor list. When you are notified about the possibility of an assignment, you are not under any obligation to accept the assignment, but you will be expected to perform any assignment that you do accept in a professional manner. ATS makes no promise as to the number or duration of assignments that may be offered. The basic pay scale ranges from $13-$23 for a one-hour session depending upon experience, degrees, and education courses.
When I am able to match you with a new student, I will call you with specific information. You will need to make contact as soon as possible within 48 hours. The location of the tutoring may be in a school, church, library, community center, at the student’s home, or at 9709 Cornell Trace Rd. Most clients will want to begin tutoring immediately because they are aware of a problem that needs to be addressed. It is very important to be professional, prompt, and consistent when dealing with our students and parents.
